4 conseils pour aborder la rentrée avec confiance !

4 tips for a confident back-to-school season!

The new school and work year is often synonymous with a fresh start: new resolutions, returning to work, or simply wanting to refresh your look. For those wearing a hair prosthesis, it is also the ideal time to assess your hair and adjust your routine.

Whether you are heading back to the office or going through medical treatment, here is our expert advice for approaching September with serenity and elegance.

1. Perform a post-summer "check-up" on your prosthesis

Summer, sun, salt, and chlorine may have strained your wig's fibers, whether synthetic or natural.

  • The diagnosis: Examine the ends and the nape of the neck. If the fiber feels dry or matted due to summer friction, it is time for an intensive treatment.

  • The solution: Use a gentle shampoo followed by a regenerating balm from the Ellen Wille Hair Care line. For synthetic fibers, a leave-in conditioning spray will immediately restore suppleness and shine.

2. Dare to change your look for September

Why not take advantage of the change in season to adopt a new cut or a warmer shade?

  • Autumn trends: Golden tones, deep browns, and Rooted effects (slightly darker roots) are incredibly popular at the start of the season. They add depth and a very natural "post-vacation" effect.

  • Change without commitment: Alternating between a very dynamic short style for daily wear and a more sophisticated mid-length cut for outings helps extend the life of each prosthesis while adding variety.

3. Adapt your routine to the pace of the back-to-work season

With the return of a busier schedule, simplicity and speed become priorities.

  • Think of comfort caps: For remote working days or moments of relaxation at home after a long day, keep a bamboo fiber turban by Gisela Mayer close at hand. Soft, breathable, and trendy, it lets your scalp rest while keeping you looking elegant.

  • Your handbag emergency kit: Always carry a special brush with protected bristles and a small wide-tooth comb to adjust your hairstyle in two seconds before a meeting.

4. Anticipate the drop in temperatures

In September and October, the wind and the first chill return.

  • Protect the cap: The wind can sometimes be a concern when wearing a prosthesis. Check that the adjustment tabs inside the cap are perfectly set to your head size.

  • Avoid friction from collars: High-collared coats, wool jackets, and scarves tend to create friction at the nape of the neck. If you wear a mid-length or long prosthesis, consider gently tying up the hair underneath or opting for silk or smooth material scarves to limit static electricity.
