Cancer treatments can cause serious and difficult side effects to live with. As a distributor approved by Social Security, Rose comme Femme supports you in these difficult times by simplifying your reimbursement procedures with Social Security.

Full or partial hair prostheses , textile accessories , as well as external breast prostheses can be partially or fully reimbursed by your health insurance fund upon presentation of a medical prescription.

In addition, your mutual insurance company can supplement the reimbursement of your class II hair prosthesis . The amounts vary depending on your contract. We advise you to contact your mutual insurance company or private insurance company directly to find out your annual rights.

Reimbursement by Social Security of hair prostheses and other accessories

There new tariff agreement, applicable since April 3, 2019, divides hair prostheses into three different categories. Each of them gives rise to specific support.

Reimbursement details:

1. Total hair prostheses (Class 1) :

• 100% refund if the price is less than or equal to €350 .

2. Total hair prostheses (Class 2) :

• Reimbursement of €250 for wigs between €350 and €700 containing at least 30% natural hair .

• A mutual insurance company can cover all or part of the remaining payment.

3. Partial hair prostheses :

• Reimbursement capped at €125 , including a textile accessory.

4. Textile accessories :

• Three items refunded up to €20 each , for a total amount of €40 maximum .

• Not combinable with the reimbursement of a hair prosthesis.

Who can benefit from support?

Adults and children facing hair loss , whether temporary or permanent, partial or total, can benefit from reimbursement for hair prostheses and accessories. In the case of alopecia linked to an illness or its treatment, such as chemotherapy, full coverage can be granted for wigs and adapted solutions.

Hair loss is often one of the most feared side effects of chemotherapy treatment. To help you regain your self-confidence, Rose comme Femme offers a wide range of synthetic or natural wigs , as well as textile accessories such as turbans or scarves, combining comfort and style.

Price of hair prostheses

• Synthetic wigs : from €125 , up to €700 depending on assembly (machine or hand).

• Human hair wigs : around €650 for a short cut, up to €1,000 and more for long hair.

Good to know: A hair prosthesis is generally renewed every year, depending on its use.

Renewal of your hair prosthesis

You are entitled to a renewal every 12 months for a hair prosthesis or textile accessories covered. With each renewal, a new reimbursement procedure is necessary.

What steps should you take to get your hair prosthesis reimbursed?

1. Obtain a prescription from your doctor justifying treatment-related hair loss.

2. Choose your hair prosthesis or accessories from our selection.

3. Send us the original of your prescription to the following address:

Note: Social Security requires original documents. We will provide you with a duplicate for your procedures with your mutual insurance company.

4. Receive your care sheet : we will prepare it and return it to you within 14 days with your order.

Documents required for reimbursement:

1. • The original order .

   • The original invoice .

   • The duly completed care sheet .

   Keep the duplicates of the invoice and prescription carefully for your further procedures.
