Cancer treatments can cause severe side effects that are hard to live with. As a distributor approved by French Social Security (CPAM), Rose comme Femme supports you through these difficult times by simplifying your reimbursement procedures.

Since 1 January 2026, the "100% Santé" reform has considerably strengthened coverage for hair solutions. Hair prostheses (full or partial), textile accessories and external breast prostheses now benefit from improved reimbursement by your health insurance fund on presentation of a medical prescription.

💡 NOTE FOR 2026: most top-up health insurance policies now include a specific "well-being" or "supportive care" allowance. This allowance can cover costs related to self-esteem, such as medical make-up, post-operative lingerie or the additional cost of a natural hair wig. We recommend checking your updated table of benefits or asking us for a quote for your insurer.

2026 reimbursement table: hair prostheses and accessories

The regulations divide hair prostheses into several categories, each entitling you to specific coverage by the French health insurance system.

Note: in this table, each financial coverage of a hair prosthesis comes with the inseparable coverage of a textile accessory to cover the bare head.

Understanding the 4 reimbursement categories in 2026

The new regulations make quality prostheses easier to access, with better coverage for everyone:

• CLASS I – Synthetic fibre models with a partly hand-made cap. These prostheses are covered 100% by French health insurance.
• CLASS II – Models containing at least 30% natural hair or a high-quality synthetic fibre with superior comfort (large hand-made cap). They are fully reimbursed (Social Security + top-up insurance), guaranteeing zero out-of-pocket cost.
• CLASS III – What's new, a major step forward in 2026! For these high-quality semi-natural models, the price is now capped. Previously entirely at your own expense, they now come with a limited out-of-pocket cost to keep them affordable.
• CLASS IV – Excellence (100% natural hair) For fully natural prostheses, you now receive a flat-rate contribution of €350 from French health insurance. This directly reduces the final cost of your premium wig.

Who is eligible for coverage?

Adults and children facing hair loss caused by a medical treatment (chemotherapy) or a condition (severe androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, lupus erythematosus, etc.) can receive this reimbursement with a medical prescription.

🧑⚕️ Good to know: The prescription can be written by your oncologist, your dermatologist or your GP as part of your care pathway.

Our hair solutions and prices

Rose comme Femme offers a carefully chosen selection combining comfort, discretion and appearance to help you through this stage.

Indicative prices of hair prostheses:

• Synthetic wigs (CLASS I): from 150€, up to 700€ depending on the comfort of the cap.

• Semi-natural wigs (CLASSES II and III): from 500€, up to 1300€ depending on the comfort of the cap.

• Natural hair wigs (CLASS IV) : from 650€. The price varies according to the type of cap, the length and the density.

Renewing your coverage

You are entitled to reimbursement every 12 months. For each renewal, a new prescription is required to trigger coverage.

📆 Exception: Early renewal may be considered if the medical protocol changes or if head shape changes (particularly in young patients). Consult your specialist.

Note: a hair prosthesis can be renewed every year on the anniversary of your last purchase.

How to get your reimbursement:

1. Present your prescription: It must specifically state the need for a hair prosthesis or accessories.

2. Choose your model: Try it on and find the solution that suits you best.

3. Send us your documents: For online orders, email your prescription to hello@rosecommefemme.com or by post to:

4. Processing of your file: We send you the completed care form (feuille de soins) and the original invoice with your order within 14 days.

Summary of the documents to send to your CPAM:

• The original medical prescription.

• The care form (feuille de soins) (provided by us).

• A copy of your invoice (the original is often requested by your top-up insurer).

📂 Good to know: Once French Social Security has made the reimbursement, the statement is usually sent automatically to your top-up insurer via the Noémie system.
